Lt. Patrick Vicari heads the Traffic Division. These officers specialize  
 in traffic enforcement, accident reports, hit and run reports, and fatality accidents. 
The Traffic division also specializes in traffic enforcement and escort details 
from funerals to parades to dignitaries. Lt. Vicari also organizes the grant 
funded Seatbelt, OWI, and Childseat Restraint monitoring 
stations throughtout the city.

If your vehicle was towed it is necessary to obtain a vehicle release
from the Hammond Police Department Records Bureau. 
The vehicle release can be obtained by paying a $75.00 
administrative fee during normal business hours. 
You must bring a valid Drivers License and proof of vehicle
 ownership (Title, Registration, or Insurance card). 
The towing company will not release your vehicle
or the contents of your vehicle until the vehicle release is obtained.
