Ofc Marcus May, and civilian Candice Turner, these cadets are active

at the police department and in the community.

Among the activities that the Hammond Police Explorers are involved in include:

• Traffic details                                       

• Crowd Control                                      

• Security Operations                               

• Ride-along Program                               

• Post Meetings and Trainings                   

• National Law Enforcement Conferences  

• Youth Camps                                           

Becoming an Explorer

Requirements

• Must be age 14 to 20 years

• Must Maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average

• Should be interested in a career in law enforcement

• Must follow all rules and regulations set forth by Post 288

• Have no prior arrest record or serious traffic violation

• Must be willing to work, learn and have fun

• Must attend Post meetings
