The Hammond Police Department’s Picnic in the Park series continues to bring neighbors together for an afternoon of free food, fun activities, and opportunities to connect with local law enforcement.
Families from across Hammond enjoyed free food and drinks while spending time with officers in a relaxed, family-friendly environment. Community members also had the chance to meet members of the Hammond Police Department’s SWAT Team and K-9 Unit, learning more about the specialized roles these officers play in keeping the community safe.
Picnic in the Park is one of the many ways the Hammond Police Department strengthens relationships with residents outside of emergency situations. By creating opportunities for positive interactions, the department continues its commitment to building trust, encouraging open conversations, and supporting the families who call Hammond home.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to seeing even more familiar and new faces at upcoming Picnic in the Park events throughout the summer.
